Character Development
Character Development is the art of creating people on the page who feel real, complex, and driven by clear motivations. It is about understanding not just who your characters are, but why they do what they do, what they want, what they fear, and how they change (or refuse to change) through the events of your story.
A well-developed character is one whose goals, conflicts, and growth feel inevitable and earned, someone readers care about because they understand them, even when they disagree with their choices.
